Ideally, they're meant to be used with your child between twenty minutes to not more than an hour at a time.

Book 1 begins with a fanciful introduction to the chess pieces, the two chess kingdoms and the board layout.

Book 2 should be approached incrementally.

These books have evolved from my 15 years experience as a chess instructor in Berkeley California. Over my years of teaching chess, I developed the methods presented in these books.

I tried various techniques to engage children. I discarded those that were ineffective and kept those that worked.
