Richard the Lionheart Chess Pieces

Very detailed unpainted theme chess set with figures defined as positions and personalities of Richard the Lionheart.
Historical and very attractive, the set is a remarkable chess set to own and because of the commonality of some of the positional figures, good for general chess playing too.
The famous Couer de Lion Richard the Lionheart was known as such even before his accession, because of his miltary reputation. At only 16, Richard had his own command, putting down rebellions in Poitou against his father, Henry II. Richard was a central Christian commander during the Third Crusade, effectively leading the campaign after the departure of Philip Augustus, and scoring considerable victories against his Muslim counterpart, Saladin.
